Founded in 1980 in Boston, Shannon Strings relocated in 1993 to the historic town of Concord, Massachusetts, about 20 miles west of Boston.  Shannon Strings is a full service Violin Shop serving musicians in the Boston / New England Region, and throughout the US, Europe and Asia.  We offer the highest quality instruments in every price range to provide tonal satisfaction and solid investment value.

Andrew Weinstein and Rebecca Shannon received their training at the Kenneth Warren School of Violin Making (now the Chicago School) in the 1970’s.  During the 1980’s, Andrew Weinstein’s Instruments received numerous awards for both tone and workmanship at international competitions.  Mr. Weinstein received the Gold Medal for Cello in both workmanship and tone at the 1984 Violin Society of America Competition in Ottawa, Canada.  Andrew Weinstein is a member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers as well as the Violin Society of America.

Mr. Weinstein enjoys the respect of musicians and colleagues for his instrument making and restoration skills as well as for his knowledge and ability in the identification of fine and rare instruments.
